# Turn on treatments

Switch treatments on and build your treatment menu. Each treatment has its own price, length and calendar colour, and they sell at the till under their own tab.

Treatments are off by default, so a shop without a treatment room never meets them at the till or in the sidebar. The whole menu lives on one screen: [BACKOFFICE › Treatments › Treatment menu](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/treatments).

## Before you start

- A price and a length in minutes for each treatment you offer.

## Steps

### Switch treatments on

1. Open [BACKOFFICE › Treatments › Treatment menu](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/treatments).
2. Under **Do you offer treatments?**, switch on **Sell treatments at the till**.
3. Optional: type your own word for the till tab in **What to call the tab in the till**, for example “Cabin”.
4. Switch on **Book and gift to a named customer** if every booking and voucher must be linked to a customer file.

### Add a treatment

5. Tap **Add treatment**.
6. Fill in **Name**, **How long it takes** in minutes, and **Price**.
7. Set a **Minimum price** if the price is ever negotiated.
   - Selling below it needs approval, as with a product: [Below-minimum approvals](https://zeropos.shop/help/below-minimum-approvals).
8. Add a **Photo** and a **Description** if you like. Both show on the online booking page, and the photo on the till card too.
9. Pick a **Calendar colour**. Tick shops under **Offered at** only when not every shop offers it.
10. Check **Sold at the till** and **Can be booked as an appointment**. They work independently of each other.
11. Tap **Add treatment** to save it.

## What happens next

- The till gets a **Treatments** tab, in each seller's own screen language, or your own word for it, exactly as you typed it. A treatment's card shows how long it takes where a product shows its stock.
- Selling a treatment never moves stock. It counts in the day's takings, the reports and the sellers' commission like any other line: [Treatments at the till: today's bookings and treatment gifts](https://zeropos.shop/help/treatments-at-the-till).
- Treatments marked **Can be booked as an appointment** can be booked in the calendar ([Book an appointment](https://zeropos.shop/help/book-an-appointment)) and, once it is switched on, online ([Let customers book online](https://zeropos.shop/help/online-booking)).
- Each appointment in the calendar carries its treatment's colour, so a glance down the day shows what is coming.

## Common questions

### What changes while treatments are switched off?

The till has no treatments tab, a treatment can't be scanned, the **Booked in today** strip disappears, new gift vouchers can't be issued and the **Treatments** folder leaves the sidebar, for everyone. Nothing is deleted: switch it back on and it all returns, and a saved link to the calendar still opens it. Online booking has its own switch, on [BACKOFFICE › Treatments › Online booking](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/treatments/online-booking).

### Can I delete a treatment?

Tap **Retire** on it. It comes off the till and the calendar, and past sales keep its name and history.

### How do I let a treatment have gift vouchers?

Open it and switch on **Print a gift voucher for this treatment**. [Treatment gift vouchers](https://zeropos.shop/help/treatment-vouchers) explains issuing and checking them.

## If you see this

- “**Treatments are switched off, so nothing reaches the till.**” — What to do: Switch on **Sell treatments at the till** at the top of the screen.
- “**Not sold at the till — switch on “Sold at the till” to give it a tab.**” — What to do: Open the treatment, switch on **Sold at the till** and save. Leave it off for something that is only booked, such as a free consultation.
- “**Priced at zero, so a seller would be adding a free line. Set a price.**” — What to do: Open the treatment and type its **Price**.
- “**The minimum price cannot be higher than the price.**” — What to do: Lower the **Minimum price** or raise the **Price**, then save again.

## Good to know

- A free consultation can be bookable without being sold: switch off **Sold at the till** and leave **Can be booked as an appointment** on.
