# Connect your email and set up marketing emails

Connect your own email account so receipts and offers leave from your address, then fill in the sender details every offer must carry.

Offers stay switched off until two things are done: your own email provider is connected, and the sender details are filled in. Both take a few minutes.

Where to find it: MANAGE › Settings › Integrations; MANAGE › Settings › Marketing emails; MANAGE › Settings › Email templates.

## Before you start

- An account with Resend, or the SMTP details from your email host.
- An address your provider lets you send from, for example hello@yourshop.com.

## Steps

### Connect your email

1. Open [MANAGE › Settings › Integrations](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/integrations).
2. Under **Email**, pick a **Provider**: **Resend** or **SMTP (nodemailer)**.
3. Fill in the **From address** and the **From name** customers will see.
4. For Resend, paste the **Resend API key**. For SMTP, fill in **Host**, **Port**, **Username** and **Password**.
5. Tap **Save**.
6. Type your own address in **Send test email to** and tap **Send test**.

### Set up marketing emails

7. Open [MANAGE › Settings › Marketing emails](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/marketing) and check that **Sending through** names your provider.
8. Decide on **Email existing customers who have not opted out**: [Record whether a customer wants offers](https://zeropos.shop/help/marketing-consent).
9. Fill in the **Sender name**, or leave it empty to use the company name.
10. Type the shop's **Postal address**. Offers can't be sent without it.
11. Add a **Footer note** if you like, and choose the **Sending pace**.
12. Tap **Save**.

## What happens next

- Receipts and the other emails in [MANAGE › Settings › Email templates](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/email-templates) now leave from your address.
- Offers can be sent: [Send an offer to your customers](https://zeropos.shop/help/send-an-offer). Each one carries your sender name, your postal address and an **Unsubscribe** link, and mail apps also offer a one-click unsubscribe.
- Someone who unsubscribes is never sent offers again, whichever customer file has their address.
- When the **Public email** in company info differs from your **From address**, customers' replies go to the public email: [Company info: name, time zone and tax](https://zeropos.shop/help/company-info). Offers sent from a separate sender work the same way: replies reach the **Public email** when it differs from the offers address.

## Common questions

### Can offers leave from a different address than receipts?

Yes. Under **Send offers from a different address**, paste a second **Resend API key** and its **From address**, then save. Only offers use it, so bulk email never puts your receipt address at risk.

### How long does a campaign take to go out?

It follows the **Sending pace**: at 40 a minute, 300 emails take about eight minutes. Slower is kinder to your provider's limits.

### Where do I set how offers look?

In each template ([Write an offer email](https://zeropos.shop/help/write-an-offer)). Your brand colour and logo come from [MANAGE › Settings › Branding & appearance](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/appearance).

## If you see this

- “**Sent (mock mode — configure a provider for real delivery).**” — What to do: **Provider** is still **None (log only)**, so nothing really left. Pick Resend or SMTP, fill it in and save.
- “**No sender configured — campaigns cannot send**” — What to do: Connect a provider in [MANAGE › Settings › Integrations](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/integrations) first.
- “**No email provider connected — set one up in** **Integrations**” — What to do: Shown on the email templates screen until a provider is connected. Follow the first part of this guide.
- “**Add your shop's name and postal address in Settings → Marketing emails. Every offer email has to say who sent it and from where.**” — What to do: Fill in the **Postal address** on [MANAGE › Settings › Marketing emails](https://app.zeropos.shop/backoffice/settings/marketing) and save.
- “**Enter a recipient email first.**” — What to do: Type the address the test should go to in **Send test email to**.
- “**Your shop has reached today's limit for emails sent through Zero POS, so the test wasn't sent. Try again tomorrow, or connect your own email provider in Settings → Integrations.**” — What to do: Until you connect a provider of your own, receipts, booking confirmations, staff emails and tests go out through Zero POS's shared address, up to a set number a day for each shop (the count starts again at midnight UTC). Connect your own provider, the first part of this guide, and that limit no longer applies.

## Good to know

- The **Resend API key** is never shown again once saved. To change it, paste a new one.
