Step 2 of 11OptionalInstall Zero POS on an iPad, phone or computerAdd Zero POS from app.zeropos.shop to your Home Screen or desktop so it opens full screen like an app, then turn on notifications for that device.

Step 3 of 11Check in and outClock in when you arrive, record your breaks and clock out when you leave. Your paid hours feed the salary figures.

Step 4 of 11Opening float: open the day and count the cashCount the cash you start with and open the shop's day before the first sale. Until the day is open, sales and check-ins at that shop wait.

Step 5 of 11Make a saleRing up products, credit the sellers and take payment on New Sale. The sale goes straight into Invoices, with its receipt ready to print or email.

Step 6 of 11Find a customerLook a customer up by name, phone or email at the till while selling, or in the Customers list. At the till you can add a new one on the spot.

Step 7 of 11Discounts at the tillLower one item's price, or take a % or an amount off the whole ticket. Discounts come off before VAT.

Step 8 of 11Gift cardsSell a gift card at the till and hand over a printed slip with its code. The customer spends it later, all at once or bit by bit, until it runs out or expires.

Step 9 of 11Layaway: hold items while a customer pays over timeHold goods for a customer who pays over time: a deposit today, more payments later, each item handed over once enough is paid. The last payment makes it a normal sale.

Step 10 of 11Refund a saleGive money back against a past sale, whole or in part. The refund is saved as a credit note linked to the sale, and the stock can go back on the shelf.

Step 11 of 11Close the dayCount each payment method against what the till expects, then close the shop's day and print its slip. The boxes start at the expected amounts, so type what you really count.
