Getting started

Sign in without typing a password

Save a passkey once and you sign in with Face ID, Touch ID or your screen lock instead of a password. Here is how, and what to do when a password is forgotten.

How-toFor: sellers · managers · ownersChecked 30 Sept 2026Step 1 of 11 · Your first shift at the till

Day to day the app keeps you signed in on your own device. You only meet the sign-in page on a new device, after signing out, or after a password reset, and a passkey makes even that one tap.

On this page

Before you start

  • Use your own phone, tablet or computer, with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint or a screen lock switched on.

Choose your workspace on a phone, with the shop's workspace saved for one-tap entry

A workspace saved on the device opens with one tap, no password to retype.

Steps

Save a passkey after you sign in

  1. Step 1

Sign in once with your email (or username) and password.

  2. Step 2

When Next time, just your face appears, tap Save on this device.

  3. Step 3

Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your screen lock. You see Saved — next time just your face.

  4. Step 4

Next time, tap Sign in with a passkey on the sign-in page and confirm the same way.

Add a passkey later, or on another device

  1. Step 5

Tap your initials in the top bar, then My profile.

  2. Step 6

Under Passkeys, tap Add a passkey.

  3. Step 7

Confirm on the device. The passkey joins the list with the day it was added.

A forgotten password

  1. Step 8

On the sign-in page, tap Forgot password?.

  2. Step 9

Type your email and tap Send reset link.

  3. Step 10

Open the link in the email and choose a new password of at least 8 characters.

  4. Step 11

Sign in with it, then save a passkey again: a reset removes the old ones.

What happens next

  • The app keeps you signed in on this device. Nobody at the counter has to retype a password during the day.
  • A password change or reset signs the account out on every other device and removes its passkeys, so a lost phone can't get back in.
  • Sign out of all devices in your profile does the same, including this device.

Questions

The reset email never arrives. What now?
Check the spam folder first. The owner can also press Send password link on your row in Users: if the email can't be sent, the link is copied instead so they can send it to you another way (WhatsApp works). It lasts 7 days.
We share one iPad at the counter. Should we save passkeys on it?
Each person is offered a passkey once per device, and Not now is remembered for them. On a shared device, the owner decides whether passkeys belong there.
Is a passkey safe?
It stays on your device (or in your iCloud or Google account), only works on this site and can't be typed into a fake page.
Can the sign-in page be in Spanish?
Yes. It opens in Castilian when you arrive from the sign-in button on the Spanish website; otherwise it is in English, as in the installed app. Once you are in, your screens follow your own language.

If you see this…

  • On screen

This browser doesn't support passkeys. Try Safari on iPhone/Mac, or Chrome.

    What to do

Open Zero POS in Safari on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, or in Chrome, and add the passkey there.

  • On screen

This device already has a passkey — next time just your face.

    What to do

Nothing to do: use Sign in with a passkey next time.

  • On screen

    “Invalid email or password.”

    What to do

Check the email and the password, then try again. Still stuck? Use Forgot password?.

  • On screen

Enter your workspace code to sign in with a username.

    What to do

A username needs the workspace code too. Type it, or sign in with your email instead.

Good to know

  • Changing your password in your profile also removes your passkeys: add one again straight after.
