Close day
Also called: end of day · cash-up · Z report · cashing up
Ending the shop's day with Close day: count what each payment method took, check it against what the app expects, and print the end-of-day slip with sales, refunds and each seller's totals. Layaway instalments taken that day are included.

Commission
Also called: sales commission · commission tiers
What a seller earns on the sales they are on, set for each person with Daily commission tiers and counted on sales without VAT. A sale shared between sellers splits it. Selling a gift card earns commission; a customer spending one later does not.
Not to be confused with:Payroll run
Credit note
Also called: refund invoice · credit memo
The document a refund creates: an invoice for the money going back, linked to the original sale. Open it from the refund, or print it with Print credit note on the invoice.

Deal
Also called: custom deal · personal offer · bundle

Not to be confused with:Instalment·Opening float
Discount
Also called: price reduction · money off · markdown
Money off at the till, as a % or an amount, on one line or on the whole ticket. If a discount takes the ticket under its products' combined minimum price, the shop's policy decides: a manager may need to approve it. See Discounts at the till.
Not to be confused with:Deal·Discount voucher·Offer
Discount voucher
Also called: coupon · voucher code
A slip printed from Quick actions › Quick prints with a code and a % off. The app prints it but does not track the code, so when a customer brings one, give the % as a discount on the sale.
Not to be confused with:Treatment gift voucher·Gift card·Deal
Gift card
Also called: gift certificate · prepaid card
A card the shop sells at the till for money, printed as a slip with a code. The balance is spent later with the Gift card payment method, on products or treatments, over several visits. Selling it is the revenue; spending it is not. It can't buy another gift card or pay a layaway.
Not to be confused with:Treatment gift voucher·Store credit·Discount voucher
Instalment
Also called: installment · part payment
Each payment after the deposit on a layaway, taken from the layaway with Collect instalment. It counts in that day's close, and the last one completes the sale.
Not to be confused with:Deposit
Invoice
Also called: sale record · bill
The shop's record of a sale, with its own number, lines, payments, sellers and customer. Every sale and every refund is an invoice, listed under BACKOFFICE › Invoices, where you can find, correct or refund it.
Not to be confused with:Receipt·Credit note
Layaway
Also called: lay-by · layby · pay in instalments · put aside
A sale the customer pays off over time: tick Layaway sale on New Sale, take a deposit, and collect the rest in instalments. The goods stay in the shop until enough is paid: an item can be handed over once the payments cover its minimum price. Any seller can continue any layaway. A gift card can't pay a layaway.

Loyalty points
Also called: points · rewards
Points a customer on file earns with every sale once the owner has turned on Enable loyalty points; a refund takes them back. They are used by hand on the customer's file with Redeem loyalty points (manual), which only takes the points off, so agree with the owner how the customer gets the value.
Not to be confused with:Store credit·Gift card
Manager PIN
Also called: approval PIN · PIN
A short code a manager or owner sets in their own profile. Typed on the seller's screen, it approves a sale below the minimum price on the spot. It is not a sign-in password: sellers never need it to use the app.
Not to be confused with:Minimum price
Minimum price
Also called: floor price · lowest price
The lowest price a product may sell for, set in its Minimum Price box and never shown to customers. What happens below it depends on the shop's Below-minimum price policy in Sale options: customers, minimum prices and receipts: the sale goes through and is flagged, a manager approves it from their phone or with their PIN, or it is refused. On a layaway, an item can only be handed over once the payments cover its minimum price.
Not to be confused with:Discount·Manager PIN
Money transfer
Also called: transfer between accounts · move money

Not to be confused with:Stock transfer
Offer
Also called: offer email · newsletter · marketing email
An email built from your own products and photos and sent to the customers who may receive offers, from BACKOFFICE › Marketing › Offers. Each send is a campaign: one template sent to one audience. It goes out through the shop's own email account, so that has to be set up first.

Not to be confused with:Appointment·Layaway

Payroll run
Also called: payroll · run payroll · wages

Not to be confused with:Commission
Prices with or without VAT
Also called: VAT mode · tax inclusive · tax exclusive · sales tax · IVA · IGI
The answer to Do your prices include VAT? in company info (sales tax, for a shop in the United States). See How prices and tax work: VAT or sales tax.
Receipt
Also called: ticket · till slip · slip
The customer's copy of an invoice: the 80 mm slip from the receipt printer, an A4 page, or an email. It prints in the shop's customer language, whatever language the seller's screen is in.

Also called: return · money back

Not to be confused with:Credit note·Store credit
Region
Also called: area · territory
A group of locations inside one workspace, set up under MANAGE › Settings › Regions. Every location and every customer belongs to one region, and payment methods are set per region. Each person is given the regions they work in and only sees those, unless their role lets them see across regions.
Not to be confused with:Location·Workspace
Sale
Also called: ticket · transaction · checkout
What you ring up on New Sale: products, treatments or gift cards, paid with one or more payment methods. Saving it creates an invoice, takes the items out of stock and adds the sale to the day's close. See Make a sale.
Not to be confused with:Invoice·Receipt·Layaway·Deal
Simple and Expert accounting
Also called: accounting mode · Simple mode · Expert mode
The two ways the shop keeps its books. Simple — plain P&L gives one profit and loss. Expert — full ledgers adds separate cash and bank accounts, each payment method linked to an account, and transfers between them. Nothing is deleted when you switch. See Simple or Expert accounting.

Stock-taking
