Selling at the till

Make a sale

Ring up products, credit the sellers and take payment on New Sale. The sale goes straight into Invoices, with its receipt ready to print or email.

How-toBy default: Owner · Administrator · Manager · SellerWhere: New SaleChecked 13 Oct 2026

Owners can change what each role may do.

New Sale is the pinned first row of the sidebar, so it is always one tap away. Products fill the left of the screen; the cart, the customer, the sellers and the payment sit on the right.

When to use it

For anything the customer pays for in full today. Paying in parts over several visits: Layaway: hold items while a customer pays over time. Selling a treatment from the diary: Treatments at the till: today's bookings and treatment gifts.

Before you start

Tap a card to add it; the customer, cart, sellers and payment sit on the right.

Steps

  1. Step 1

Tap each product card to add it to the Cart, or find it first with Search Product.

    • With Barcode scanning on, tap Scan and scan the product's barcode.
    • Each tap adds its own line. With Quantity steppers on, use the + and − buttons instead.
  2. Step 2

Search for the customer by name, phone or email and tap them, or fill in the form to add someone new.

    • Where walk-ins are allowed you can leave it empty: the cart shows Walk-in.
  3. Step 3

Check Sellers: you are on it at 100%. To share the sale, tap Add seller and pick your colleague.

    • Split with Even, by % or by a fixed amount. The shares must add up to 100%, or to the total.
  4. Step 4

Select a payment method under Payment methods. Its amount fills in with the total.

    • To split the payment, select a second method and type how much goes on each.

Payment methods on the till on a phone, one method ticked with the total filled in

Ticking a method fills in the amount still to pay.
  5. Step 5

    Tap Create Sale.

    • If something is missing, the button says what instead, such as Customer required or Payments short.
  6. Step 6

From the confirmation, print the receipt, email it, or start the next sale.

What happens next

  • Stock: each product leaves the stock of the shop you sold from. Treatments have no stock to take.
  • Money: each payment counts, method by method, in the shop's Close the day.
  • Sellers: each seller is credited with their share of the sale, and their commission follows that split.
  • Customer: a named customer has the sale on their file and earns loyalty points if your shop runs them (The customer file).
  • The sale is in BACKOFFICE › Invoices straight away (Find an invoice). To take it back, use Refund a sale.

Questions

Does it matter who is on Sellers?
Yes. Each person's share counts toward their sales and their commission, so add everyone who served the customer before you tap Create Sale.
How does the till work out the change?
Type what the customer hands over as the cash amount, and the line underneath shows Cash tendered … → Change due with the change to give. Then set the cash amount back to what is owed (with two methods, tap Balance to total) before you tap Create Sale.
How do I sell a treatment?
Treatments have their own tab on the product grid, and Booked in today above it lists today's appointments. The whole flow is in Treatments at the till: today's bookings and treatment gifts.
Why does the button say Ask for approval?
The ticket is under its products' minimum prices, so a manager has to approve it: Below-minimum approvals. To lower a price on purpose: Discounts at the till.
I made a mistake on a finished sale. What now?
Refund it and ring it up again, or have a manager correct it: Fix a sale: edit, cancel or refund? helps you choose.

Nobody can take money until the owner adds payment methods: Add a payment method.

  • The minimum price on each product card is for staff only. Customers never see it.
