Getting started

Set up a new shop: guided setup and the settings tour

Six short steps take a new shop from nothing to a first sale; then an optional tour walks you past every area of Settings. Stop any time and pick up later.

How-toFor: ownersChecked 21 Oct 2026

When the owner of a new shop signs in, the app opens Let's set up your shop by itself. The first part covers what the till needs; the second is a tour of Settings, all of it optional.

On this page

Before you start

  • Only the owner can do this. Anyone else sees Only the owner can set the shop up.
  • Both parts speak your app language. To change it, see Your profile.

Ticked items are done; each open one links to its screen and its guide.

Steps

The six essentials

  1. Step 1

On Your business, check the name, country, currency and timezone from sign-up, then tap Looks right — continue.

    • Typed the United States as the country? The currency moves to USD unless you changed it, and the next steps speak of sales tax.
  2. Step 2

On Your shop, name your first region and your first shop, then tap Create and continue.

  3. Step 3

On How you charge VAT, choose how your prices work and type the rate. Read How prices and tax work: VAT or sales tax first if unsure.

  4. Step 4

On How customers pay, check which payment buttons the till will show, then continue.

  5. Step 5

On Your first product, add one product with a name and a price. A photo is optional.

  6. Step 6

On Ring up a test sale, tap Open the till and sell something, sell the product and take the payment.

Stop and come back later

  1. Step 7

Tap Skip for now on any step: you go straight to the till and nothing you saved is lost.

  2. Step 8
  3. Step 9

Tap Resume guided setup. It opens on the first essential still missing.

The settings tour

  1. Step 10

After the test sale, tap Continue to the settings tour.

  2. Step 11

Read the card: it holds the few choices that matter most in one area of Settings.

  3. Step 12

Tap Save and next to keep a change, or Skip this one to move on.

  4. Step 13

At the end, tap Finish, then Take me to the till.

  5. Step 14

To pick the tour up later, open MANAGE › Settings › Setup checklist and tap Continue the tour →.

What happens next

  • The setup checklist ticks rows off from your real data: a region, a shop, a product, a second user, a customer, a first sale.
  • The tour row counts the cards you have looked at and is marked Optional: skipping cards never holds your setup back.
  • Everything can be changed later in MANAGE › Settings, except how you charge VAT once you have sold something with VAT.
  • The test sale is a real sale on a real receipt. Cancel it from its invoice if you don't want it in your figures: see Fix a sale: edit, cancel or refund?.

Questions

I can't find Resume guided setup any more. Why?
It only shows while the region, the shop or the first product is missing. Once they exist, change anything straight from Settings.
What does the tour cover?
Customers at the till, receipts, sale options, accounting mode, loyalty, treatments, team, day open and close, notifications, printer, invoice numbers, inventory, appearance and permissions. Each card links to the full screen.
The payments step says there is nothing to set up. Is that right?
Yes, in Simple accounting mode the till already shows cash, card, bank transfer and other. In Expert mode, cash and card are switched on for your region. See Simple or Expert accounting.

If you see this…

  • On screen

This is locked now because you have already rung up a sale with VAT. Support can change it for you if it was set up wrongly.

    What to do

Keep the current VAT choice, or contact support if it was set up wrongly.

  • On screen

Only the owner can do this.

    What to do

Sign in as the owner of the shop to finish setup.

  • On screen

Could not save that. Try again in a moment.

    What to do

Check the connection and tap the button again.

Good to know

  • Until every required row of the checklist is done, the Settings page shows Finish setting up your shop; Dismiss hides it on that device.
