Settings: a map of every tile

Settings groups every shop-wide choice into tiles, from company details to printing and alerts. This map says what each tile is for and which guide explains it.

Owners can change what each role may do.

Each tile carries a short grey line with its current state, so you can check a setting at a glance without opening it.

Before you start

  • You see only the tiles your role may open: the others are simply not shown.

Tiles are grouped by subject; the grey line under each name sums it up, often with how it is set now.

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Open MANAGE › Settings.

  2. Step 2

    Find the group the job belongs to and tap its tile. The grey line under each name shows the current value.

  3. Step 3

    Change what you need on that screen and tap Save there. Tap Settings in the breadcrumb at the top to come back.

Company

Company info: the name, time zone and VAT (Company info: name, time zone and tax). Regions: who sees which shops (Regions and shops: who sees what). Localization: the languages and the currency (Languages).

Money

Cash & bank accounts (Cash and bank accounts (Expert)), Payment methods (Add a payment method) and Accounting mode (Simple or Expert accounting).

Selling

Sale options (Sale options: customers, minimum prices and receipts), Tips (Tips: what customers can choose and who gets them), Invoice numbering (Invoice numbering), Deal page & vouchers (Set up the deal page and vouchers), Treatment menu (Turn on treatments) and Gift cards (Gift cards).

Printing & receipts

Receipt (Design the receipt), Printer (Receipt printer setup: Epson, browser or cloud) and Quick prints, the wording of the slips printed from the till (Quick print templates).

Operations

Check-in and breaks (Check in and out), Day open / close (Opening float: open the day and count the cash), Time off (Time off), Rota (The rota), Inventory defaults (Low-stock alerts: the default threshold) and Loyalty and store credit (Store credit).

Messages & alerts

Integrations, Email templates and Marketing emails (Connect your email and set up marketing emails), and Notifications, the alerts for sales and other events (Notifications: sale alerts and other events).

Customization

Branding & appearance: logos, colours and the theme (Branding & appearance: logos, colours and theme). Your sidebar changes only your own menu (Your profile).

Advanced

Permissions (What each role can do), Setup checklist (Set up a new shop: guided setup and the settings tour), Help centre (it opens in a new tab), Billing (Billing: your plan and workspace status), Workspace & data (Workspace & data: download your data or cancel) and Import history (Import past sales).

Questions

A colleague sees a tile I don't. Why?
Each tile follows its own permission, so different roles see different tiles. See What each role can do.
What is the banner at the top?
It shows how far the setup checklist has got, and it goes away once every step is done. See Set up a new shop: guided setup and the settings tour.

Good to know

  • Settings are shop-wide: a change applies to everyone in this workspace. Your own screen language and sidebar live in My profile instead.
