Worth a call: who to phone this week

Three lists of customers worth phoning, built from your own sales: layaways with money owing, regulars who stopped coming, and big spenders you haven't seen.

How-toFor: managers · ownersWhere: BACKOFFICE › Marketing › Worth a callChecked 29 Sept 2026

BACKOFFICE › Marketing › Worth a call reads the sales you already have and turns them into phone calls. It only reads: nothing on it is saved, marked or sent.

On this page

Before you start

  • The Layaway tab shows if you can see layaways. The two customer tabs show if you can see customers and what they spend.

Worth a call on a phone, listing regulars who have not been back

Regulars who have stopped coming, with a way to reach each one.

Steps

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2

Pick a tab: Layaway, Lapsed regulars or Quiet big spenders.

  3. Step 3

Narrow it to a region or a shop with the pickers, or tap Only customers I can reach.

  4. Step 4

Tap a phone number or an email on a row to call or write.

  5. Step 5

On the Layaway tab, tap Collect payment when the customer pays: Layaway: hold items while a customer pays over time.

  6. Step 6

On the two customer tabs, tap a name to open their file and history: The customer file.

What happens next

  • Nothing is recorded when you call. A customer leaves the list by themselves when they buy again, or when their layaway is paid off.
  • A payment taken from the Layaway tab is an ordinary instalment: it reaches the takings and the seller's commission on the day it is paid.

Layaway

Every open layaway with a balance outstanding, oldest first, with the customer's phone and email. Last payment says No payment since it opened when only the deposit was ever taken.

Any seller can take the next payment, whoever opened the layaway and at whichever till.

Lapsed regulars

Customers who bought on a rhythm of their own and stopped. The screen prints the rule: at least 4 visits, silent for more than 2.5 times their Usual gap, and for at least 45 days.

A visit is a day they bought, not a ticket, and a refund is never a visit. Spend at risk adds up what the customers on the list have spent with you.

Quiet big spenders

Your biggest customers by what they have spent, not seen in the last 90 days, whatever their rhythm. Off their rhythm marks those who are also lapsed.

Only the biggest are listed; the screen then says how many it shows out of how many.

Badges on a row

Open layaway: they also have a layaway to finish. History imported: all their sales came from an import, so contact details may be missing. No phone or email on file: open their file and add one.

Questions

Can I email everyone on one of these lists?
Yes. In a campaign, choose Lapsed regulars, Quiet big spenders or Layaway as the audience: Send an offer to your customers. Only customers who may receive marketing email get it: Record whether a customer wants offers.
Why don't I see all three tabs?
Each tab follows a permission: layaways for the first, customers and their spending for the other two. An owner can change them in MANAGE › Settings › Permissions.
Is there another way in?
Yes: Work the call list → on the Insights report opens this screen: Read the Insights report.

If you see this…

  • On screen

    Nothing to chase

    What to do

No open layaway has money owing right now. Nothing to do.

  • On screen

    No one has gone quiet

    What to do

Every regular is still coming in on their usual rhythm. Customers with fewer than 4 visits never appear here; look at Quiet big spenders too.
