Check in and out
Clock in when you arrive, record your breaks and clock out when you leave. Your paid hours feed the salary figures.
Owners can change what each role may do.
Check-in is the shop's clock: it records when each person arrives, pauses and leaves, and those hours feed straight into the salary figures.
Before you start
- You are assigned to the shop you work at (Add someone to the team).
- If your shop asks for it, the day is open at that shop: Opening float: open the day and count the cash.
Steps
Your shift
- Step 1
Open Check-in.
- Step 2
Tap Check in, pick the shop you are working at, and tap Check in again to confirm.
- Step 3
For a pause, choose its kind (Break, Smoke, Lunch, Errand or Other) and tap Start break.
- Step 4
Tap End break when you are back.
- While you are out, the timer shows Paid · …m remaining, then Unpaid · over …m.
- Step 5
At the end of the shift, tap Check out.
- Step 6
Find your shifts and hours in the Me tab, under My shifts.
For managers
- Step 7
Open the Team tab and choose a day, a week, a month or a year.
- Step 8
Filter by person or by shop to read each person's paid hours and breaks.
- Step 9
Tap Add shift to record a shift somebody forgot to clock.
- Step 10
For a shift marked no-checkout, tap Edit and set the real times, or tap Mark reviewed.
What happens next
- Paid hours are the shift minus every break that ran past the paid limit, counted in full (Check-in rules: paid breaks, the cut-off and opening the day). They feed the salary figures (Read your salary page).
- A shift still open at the shop's cut-off time is closed automatically and marked no-checkout, when auto-close is on.
- Closing the day at a shop checks out everyone still clocked in there (Close the day).
Where the rules are set
Break limits live in MANAGE › Settings › Check-in and breaks. Paid break (minutes) is how long a break stays paid; Break-exceeded grace (minutes) adds minutes before managers are alerted.
The same screen sets the Cutoff hour and Auto-close past the cutoff for shifts nobody checked out of. All of it, step by step: Check-in rules: paid breaks, the cut-off and opening the day.
