Notifications: sale alerts and other events

Choose who is alerted, in the app and by phone push, when a sale falls in an amount band, staff check in or out, stock runs low and more.

How-toBy default: Owner · Administrator · ManagerWhere: MANAGE › Settings › NotificationsChecked 13 Oct 2026

Owners can change what each role may do.

Alerts arrive in the app and, on devices where someone turned notifications on, as a phone push. They go to roles (owners, administrators, managers), never to one named person.

Before you start

  • Changing it needs the permission to edit notification settings: owners, administrators and managers by default.
  • For phone pushes, each person turns them on for their own device in My profile, under Devices & push notifications.

Notifications with a first sale tier being set up: from 100 with no upper limit, its sound, recipients, Push and message, and the other events underneath

A tier alerts the chosen roles about every sale between its two amounts.

Steps

Alerts for sales

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2

Set From amount and To amount. Leave To amount blank for no upper limit.

  3. Step 3

Write the Message. {seller}, {amount} and {location} are filled in when the alert goes out.

  4. Step 4

Pick a Sound (the play button lets you hear it), tick the Recipients, and untick Push to keep this band in the app only.

  5. Step 5

    Tap Save.

Other events

  1. Step 6

Under Other events, find the event: Staff check-in, Staff check-out, Break exceeded, Low stock, Day opened, Day closed or Online booking.

  2. Step 7

Tick or untick Enabled, then choose which roles receive it.

  3. Step 8

    Tap Save.

What happens next

  • Alerts follow the new rules from the next sale or event.
  • When bands overlap, everyone ticked on any matching band is alerted once, with the message and sound of the band that starts highest.
  • Managers are alerted about the regions they work in; owners and administrators about every shop.
  • Day opened also tells them when a closed day is reopened, with who, why and the count set aside; Day closed says when a day is closed again (Opening float: open the day and count the cash).
  • Each person reads an alert in their own Screen language from My profile (Your profile), or in the shop's Staff language if they follow the shop's. Days and times are the shop's.
  • A band's Message goes out as you wrote it, to everyone. A band without one says the sale in each reader's language.

Questions

Can I alert one person rather than a role?
No. Alerts go to roles. To leave someone out, untick their role or give them another one.
Can sellers receive alerts?
No. Only owners, administrators and managers can be chosen.
Where do I set how long a break may run over?
In Check-in and breaks (Check in and out). This screen only switches the alert on or off.
Can alerts come by email?
Two events can also send an email: Low stock (template Low stock alert) and Day closed (template Daily report). Each email goes to the roles ticked for that event, and only when its template is turned on in Email templates. The other events arrive in the app and by push only.

If you see this…

  • On screen

No push arrives on my phone

    What to do

Open My profile, tap Enable on this device under Devices & push notifications, then Send test push. On an iPhone, add Zero POS to the Home Screen first (Install Zero POS on an iPad, phone or computer).

  • On screen

    overlaps next to a band

    What to do

Two bands share some amounts. That is allowed, but if you want one message per sale, set From amount and To amount so each sale falls in one band.

Good to know

  • A band from 0 with no upper limit alerts on every sale. Start with a higher From amount so the phone doesn't buzz all day.
